# NAUVIUM launches the pre-refit materials exchange for ships, yards and recyclers

**Velden, Netherlands — 2 October 2026.** NAUVIUM, part of MARXL BV, today launches nauvium.com: an online exchange where the steel, copper, aluminium, bronze and parts that come off a ship during a refit are known, listed and traded up to 12 months before they are physically removed.

Today, refit and dismantling stock is sold late, often after it has piled up at the yard. NAUVIUM turns that around. Ship owners upload the vessel file and refit date; the platform works out what comes off and when. Recycling companies, traders and manufacturers follow the materials they need, and matching lots appear in their own shop to bid on or buy. Shipyards confirm removal dates, set their own scrap prices and mark lots ready for pickup.

Because buyers are matched close to the yard, materials travel shorter distances and stay in Europe. The platform's main yard partner location is Damen Shiprepair Rotterdam in Schiedam.

"The parts are known months before the ship arrives — that window is where the value is," said the NAUVIUM team.
